This is what the cabins at camp looked like when they were first being built. Note the spaces between the logs that were later filled in with insulation and concrete. They lasted a long time.

The next photos are of Cabin 11 taken in the summer of 2006 by Russ Washburn. Both Russ and Chuck Kearney live in the Harbor Springs area of Michigan and they saw an article in the Harbor Springs paper about a cabin that was in the area and had originally been at camp. The cabin was obviously modified some as the next few photos will demonstrate.

The cabin was identified as Number 11 by the name of Wayne Hause that was painted on one of the logs inside. I contacted Wayne (who is a Veterinarian living in the Saint Louis area) after Russ and Chuck had sent me the info and I learned that he painted his name in Cabin 11 back in 1961.

This is the backside of the cabin. The cabin was moved in 1995 to the Good Hart Farms and then to a location across from Kestrel Farm in 2003. It is unclear where the cabin was from 1971 when the camp closed to the 1995 date.

Cabin Sleuth Chuck Kearney shown at back of Cabin 8. Chuck looked pretty good in this photo considering that he had undergone 7 Chemo treatments and 35 radiation treatments in his fight with lung cancer. In August of 2007 Chuck was given a clean bill of health. Thanks Chuck for finding Cabin 8.
